Attach a picture from Google Photos
Connect a Google account with your own OAuth client, then pick pictures from Google Photos in the composer.
You want to send a picture from your Google Photos library with a message.
- In Google Cloud console, create a project or open an existing project.
- Enable the Google Photos Picker API on that project.
- Configure the OAuth consent screen. Add your own Google account as a test user, or publish the app to In production so the connection lasts longer than seven days.
- Create an OAuth client ID of type Desktop app, and download its JSON file.
- In Turret, open Settings, go to the Accounts tab and choose Google Photos.
- Press Choose file… and pick the JSON file, or paste its contents into the box.
- Press Save client, then Connect Google account.
- Your browser opens Google's consent page. Leave Google Photos ticked and allow access.
- Return to Turret. The section reads Connected as and your address.
- In a session's composer, press the attach-image control and choose From Google Photos….
- Pick pictures in the Google Photos page that opens in your browser, then press Done.
- Turret adds the pictures to the composer as thumbnails, ready to send.
On the phone, press the composer's attach control and choose Google Photos. The phone uses the Google account connected on the machine it is talking to.
A pick attaches pictures only. Turret leaves a video out and says so under the composer. Press Cancel under the composer to stop waiting for a pick.
When Google shows a warning that the app is unverified, the app is your own client. Press Advanced and continue to it.
