Pick an engine, a model and a reasoning effort

Choose which engine, model and reasoning effort a new session starts with.

You are starting a session and want a specific engine, model or reasoning effort rather than the default.

1. On the New session screen, choose a card under Engine: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or DeepSeek. A disabled card names why it cannot run.
2. Choose a value from the Model list. Its choices change to match the engine chosen in step 1.
3. Choose a value from the Thinking list, on an engine that offers it.
4. Press Create. The engine, model and reasoning effort stay fixed for the rest of the session.

The Automations job editor offers the same three fields, for the engine a scheduled job runs under.
