Install an update

Finish installing an update Turret has already found and downloaded.

Turret found a newer version and you want it installed.

  1. While it downloads, the Updates section on the General tab shows a progress bar and a percentage. Nothing needs pressing yet.
  2. Once ready, the sidebar shows "Turret <version> is ready." above Vendors, with a Restart now button. The Updates section names the same version and reads "is ready to install", beside a Restart to update control. On another machine's own settings page the control instead names that machine: Restart <machine name> to update.
  3. Press either. It reads "Restarting…" while Turret quits and reinstalls.

The sidebar notice's ✕ hides it until a newer version is ready; the Updates section keeps its control either way. With the sidebar collapsed, a yellow arrow icon stands in for the notice, and pressing it restarts.

That ready state can pass before a press reaches it — another window already sent the same restart, for instance. Pressing it then shows "No update is ready to install." below the control instead.

See Check for an update for the step before installing.

See Settings for the General tab's Updates section this guide walks through.
