Change another machine's settings
Reach a paired machine's own settings from this one, without walking over to it.
You have paired with another machine and want to change something on it without walking over to it.
- In the peer's own section of the sidebar, press the gear control beside its header. It stays enabled even when the machine is unreachable, unlike the section's own new-session control.
- Press Reload to read the machine's settings again.
Turret opens the same four tabs the local Settings screen has: General, Claude, Codex, Gemini. A banner across the top appears when peer discovery is off or the machine is unreachable, naming which. The header keeps naming the machine, and the Updates section keeps the version and channel it last read. Every other section shows its own read-failure message instead of a value.
The machine's own sections
The General tab opens with the same two sections the local General tab has.
The Base folder section shows the folder that machine clones GitHub repositories into. Change the path and press Save. The field keeps what you typed when the write fails, with the machine's own reason under it.
There is no Choose… control here. The native folder dialog would browse this computer rather than that machine. A machine whose folder is fixed draws Workspace and no field at all.
The GitHub section runs the device flow on the machine. Press Sign in with GitHub: the code is copied onto this computer's clipboard, and the device page opens in this computer's browser. The token is stored on the machine, and its clones and sessions use it. See Set the base folder for what each state of the block means.
The Claude and Codex tabs open with a Sign-in section for that machine's CLI. When it says Not ready, press Sign in. A sheet opens over the page and follows the run on that machine. Open its link in this computer's browser, and paste whatever the CLI asks for into the box under the output.
See Another machine's settings for every field these tabs show and what differs from the local Settings screen.
