Another machine's settings

What you can see and change on a paired machine's settings from this one, and what stays local to the other machine.

The sidebar's row for a paired machine opens this screen at #/machine/<peerId>/<tab>, reading and writing that machine's own settings over the peer link. Pairing is what authorises it, the same standing that already lets this app archive a session running on that machine.

Desktop

The desktop page has the local Settings screen's nine tabs, in the same order: General, Services, Accounts, Auto-Sync, Google Drive, Claude, Codex, Gemini and DeepSeek. Each tab is the local tab reading and writing the other machine. The title names the machine once, and nothing inside the page repeats it.

General carries the local General tab's base folder, external editor, MCP servers, debug cards and Coding v2 settings, with the same ⓘ help on each. A group named after the machine holds its Mute sounds, Map tiles, Map tile cache, Full Disk Access and Updates rows.

Full Disk Access appears for a Mac and only reports. When the access is not granted, the row says it can be given only at that Mac, in System Settings.

General lacks Show thinking, which is stored in this window. A line at the foot says so.

Services carries the machine's peer discovery switch. It also lists the machines that machine is paired with, as it sees them, and holds its sudo password. The row for the computer in use is marked, and Unpair on that row asks first. Unpair on any other row does not.

Gemini and DeepSeek carry their API key, which is write-only. The row says whether a key is set and offers Replace and Clear. A key typed here is sent to the machine and is not kept on this computer, and is never shown again.

The sudo password behaves the same way.

Accounts has the local sub-menu of five accounts, and its dots and second lines are the machine's own. Tailscale, GitHub, Telegram with its Channels, Google Photos and Google Drive each read and write that machine's account. The Telegram bot token and the Google client file are write-only. A client file is read on this computer and sent to the machine.

Google, Google Drive and Tailscale sign the machine in with this computer's browser. Each says This signs in this machine, not your computer. beside its button and its wait. A wait started from this window says it is in the browser, and a wait started elsewhere says it is on the machine. Cancel ends the wait from either window and never asks.

A sign-in that ran out, failed or lost the link is drawn as its own state. Tailscale has no timeout. Disconnecting Google Drive keeps its own inline confirmation.

Some actions can end the link the page is using, and the page cannot undo them. Switching peer discovery off and unpairing this computer ask first.

Signing the machine out of Tailscale, or turning Tailscale off, asks when the page reaches the machine over the tailnet. Cancelling makes no call.

Auto-Sync lists the machine's repositories with their sync state. Each opens to its settings, with Approve, Pause and Sync now. It has no Add button, since a repository appears once a session on that machine is open in it.

Google Drive carries the machine's account line, its synced folders and the folders shared with that account. Three actions pick a folder: Add a folder, Sync on a shared folder and Find it. Each opens a list of the machine's own folders, titled with its name, in place of this computer's folder dialog. A machine with no Drive account shows a card whose button opens its Google Drive panel under Accounts, and no sign-in starts from this tab.

The Claude and Codex tabs open with the same Engine card the local tabs have, for that machine's own CLI. Install, Update, Fix and Sign in run on the machine. The card asks the machine for progress, and an install keeps going there when the page closes. A line under the card says it acts on the machine.

Fix has no Choose executable… link here, since a file picker opens on the machine in front of the reader. The Sign in button opens the same sheet over the link, titled with the machine's name. A Codex sign-in started this way always uses the one-time code, since this computer's browser cannot reach the machine's own localhost. A Claude Code sign-in is finished by pasting the code Claude shows into the sheet's input box.

The machine shows a notice naming this computer while an install, an update, a Fix or a sign-in is going. Sign out asks first and names the machine.

The Claude tab's Personal skills section lists the skills in that machine's own skills folder. It imports skills from a folder on that machine, chosen in the same list of the machine's folders. It has no teleport control on this page.

Auto-Sync and Google Drive re-read every two seconds while a repository or folder is syncing, and every thirty seconds otherwise. The Reload button reads them again at once.

A banner sits above the tabs when the page cannot reach the machine. It says that peer discovery is off, that the machine is no longer paired, or that the machine is not reachable. The last of these adds a sentence when this page changed a setting that can end the link.

The header keeps the machine's name from the last time it was reached. Every field below shows its own read-failure message instead of a value, and none of it is cached. The Updates section keeps showing the version and channel it last read.

A machine running a build from before a section existed draws nothing for that section.

The phone

A narrower screen with no tabs. The machine's base folder and its GitHub sign-in come first. Below them sit each engine's output style, a single debug-mode switch, and that machine's update status. Nothing else on the desktop page's tabs reaches the phone.

Base folder is the folder that machine clones repositories into and finds them under.

GitHub signs that machine in. The device flow runs over there, and this phone copies the code and opens its own browser. A machine whose folder is fixed draws Workspace with no action, because its workspace root cannot be changed.
