Read a subagent's conversation

Open what a subagent was asked, everything it said and did, and how it ended, on the desktop or the phone.

A session handed work to a subagent with Claude's own Agent tool. You want to see what the subagent did, not only the report it sent back.

On the desktop

  1. Find the session's Delegated row: the call that started the subagent, in the session's transcript.
  2. Press Open at the end of that row.

While the subagent runs, its own row also sits under the session's sidebar row, marked Subagent. Press the session row's disclosure chevron, then that row.

The subagent's conversation replaces the session's transcript. It starts with what the subagent was asked, then shows what it said, the tools it ran and their output, and how it ended. It keeps streaming while the subagent runs.

Press Back to session to return. The session's transcript and any message you had started typing are where you left them.

On the phone

  1. Open the session.
  2. Press Open at the end of its Delegated row.

The back arrow returns you to the session.

What you cannot do

A subagent's conversation is read-only. The CLI gives Turret no way to send a subagent a message or stop it on its own, so there is no message box. When the subagent needs a permission, the ask belongs to the session: answer it from the session's own transcript.

A subagent that ran before Turret started watching the session has nothing to show. The same goes for a session resumed from a transcript Turret did not record.

See Built-in tools for the Subagents tool that starts a subagent.
