Put a tool on the never list

Add a Claude tool or pattern to the Deny List so no rule, mode or session can run it.

You want a Claude tool, or a specific pattern of it, refused outright, on every session and every project.

  1. Open Settings and the Claude tab.
  2. Scroll to Deny List.
  3. Type the tool's name into Tool, written the way Claude Code names it.
  4. Type a pattern into Pattern, or leave it blank to refuse every call to that tool.
  5. Press Deny.

The entry appears with its own Remove button, the same button a built-in entry carries.

Removing a built-in entry takes it off the list. A Restore defaults button appears once any built-in entry is gone, and puts every removed entry back at once.

Two rows, enforced by a structural check rather than by a rule, carry no remove control and stay on the list always.

Turret refuses every entry on the Deny List, on every session, in every project, under every permission mode. See Settings for what that covers.
