Welcome screen
Open the Welcome screen, take the guided tour, and find your way back to it later.
By the end, you will have opened the Welcome screen, taken the guided tour, and reopened the screen from the sidebar. It takes about five minutes.
What you need
- Turret installed and open.
- An engine Turret can use. See Set up Claude Code or Codex if Turret shows Set up an engine instead of Welcome.
Steps
- Open Turret. It opens on the Welcome screen. Four cards lead: Work on code in a folder, Organise a folder of notes, Ask something quick and Take the tour. Under More to try are Learn CAD and Make a Game. This tutorial takes the tour.
- Press Take the tour. Turret opens a scratch session behind the screen, and a card appears at the foot of the window naming the sidebar's New control.
- Press Next. The card moves to the next control and names it, and a ring highlights that control on screen.
- Keep pressing Next through the rest of the cards, reading each card before moving on.
- Press Done on the last card. The tour closes. Its scratch session and the temporary folder it worked in are both gone.
- Press the compass button in the row of New, at the top of the sidebar, to open the screen again. It opens on the same cards.
Stop Showing This, on the card step, stops the screen opening at startup and removes the sidebar's Welcome button. Turret's Help still links to the screen once that button is gone.
