Draw a shape on a face
Mark a spot on a design's face in the viewer, and give the session something concrete to act on.
You want to mark a specific spot on a design's face, to talk about it or to give the session something concrete to act on.
- Open the design you want to mark. See Pick which design is on screen.
- Press Annotate in the viewer's toolbar.
- Click a face on the model. Turret places a painting plane on it and names the part and face beside the toggle.
- Choose a shape from the picker beside the toggle: a circle, a rectangle or a point. For a rectangle, choose whether a drag draws from its centre or between two opposite corners. For a circle, choose centre or two ends of a diameter instead.
- Drag across the face to draw. A point needs only a click.
- Open the Annotations list to rename or delete a shape. Type directly into its name field. Press the ✕ beside a shape to delete it.
Clicking a different face while Annotate is on moves the plane there instead of drawing.
The session reads what is drawn the next time it looks at the design: the camera, the visible objects, and each shape's face and coordinates. Refer to a shape by the name it was given instead of describing it again.
See Modes for what CAD mode is.
