How-to · Writing a message
Run a slash command
Complete a slash command from the composer's menu, then send it to actually run it.
You have found the composer's slash-command menu and want to run a command from it.
- Type
/at the start of a message to open the menu, then keep typing to narrow it to the command wanted. - Press Enter or Tab on the highlighted row. The draft now reads
/namein place of what was typed, and the menu closes. - Where the command takes an argument, type it after that trailing space.
- Press Enter again, or Send, to run the command.
Completing a command from the menu only finishes typing it. You still have to send that message the normal way, the same as any other draft, before it runs.
See Slash commands for what a command is, where the list comes from, and how typing narrows it.
