Resume a session
Restore an archived session or adopt a Claude Code CLI transcript from the New Session screen's Resume session view.
You used Turret on a folder before, and want to pick up an earlier session instead of starting fresh.
- Press the sidebar's New control.
- Press Resume session in the switch at the top left of the screen. The screen always opens on New session.
- Pick the folder from the Recent list, or type or browse to it. Its earlier sessions appear under Resume, newest first.
- Press an archived session's row. Turret restores it and opens it where it stopped.
- Press an unclaimed Claude Code CLI transcript's row. Turret adopts it into a new row here, in the mode Open CLI sessions in names.
A transcript already open elsewhere shows Adopt anyway in place of the usual label.
Adopting it puts two programs on the same transcript.
A folder with nothing to resume shows "No earlier sessions in this folder."
See Start a session on a folder for the rest of this screen.
See What a session leaves on disk for the archive a restored session comes from. The same page names the CLI transcript file an adopted session comes from.
